Montana-July 30, 2007

7:00a.m. - What a beautiful morning with clear skies and a cool temperature of 65 degrees, just lovely. We are at 4730 ft. high, but it doesn't seem like it.
8:00 a.m. - On the road towards Ennis, MT. We had our motorhome weighed and it came to 22,900 lbs. Driving at this elevation a lot of the time the roads are straight and it seems like your just driving in the valley. Until we look at the GPS, we are usually guessing the wrong elevation.
9:30 a.m. - We are climbing higher now on our way to Yellowstone National Park. We are having beautiful roads with tall Pine Trees on both sides. We are 47miles from Yellowstone and the temperature is a pleasant 74 degrees.
10:30a.m. - We are just now entering Yellowstone, took us this long going through the mountains. The elevation here is 6766 ft. and the temp is 73 degrees, sunny blue skies. We walked around the city and looked at all the little shops. A lot of the shops have colorful Bison in the front of their stores to take your picture by. It was not as crowded as we thought it would be. This is a picture of what the Bison Models look like. We came back to the motorhome and had some lunch.
12:00p.m. - We are now back on the road to Ennis. We have a 2:30 p.m. appointment with a vet that Uncle Curt knows to treat Abby. She has gotten something in her left eye, we think. She has not been able to keep it open and she seems to be very listless and the eye keeps watering. Driving through these canyons sure make us feel small.
1:30 p.m. - We got to the Vet in Ennis. We made good time through the mountains. Curt and Betty met us there. We left Abby with the vet because she cannot look at her right now she has another dog she is taking care of. We went with Curt and Betty into town for awhile.
3:30 p.m. - We went and picked Abby up and she has conjunctivitis in her eye. They put some antibiotics in her eye and we have to put it in her eye 3 times a day until 2 days after her eye clears up. We noticed a difference right away. We are so glad that's all it was. Went to Curt and Betty's and sat around and talked until 7:00 p.m. We then had dinner and chatted and visited until 9:45 p.m. What a great evening and we are looking forward to tomorrow to spend the whole day with them. I guess Curt is going to take us up in the mountains for a ride. Looking out their living room picture window we see the Madison Range of mountains and directly in front of their property is a huge mountain called the Sphinx Mtn.
