9:10a.m a.m. On the4 road after a good day yesterday and a nice campfire with a very cool sleep. The4 temperature is now a pleasant 68 degrees and last night the temperature got down to 48 degrees!!! We stopped and got gas at a Conoco station and gas here is $2.43 a gallon. It has been averaging between $2.37 - $2.63 a gallon all along this trip so far.
10:30 a.m. - We are going through Rapid City, S.D. and there are motorcycles everywhere!! There is a Cabela's store off the Highway 16 here, but we did not stop because we already had done enough damage at the other Cabelas. ha ha ha. Rapid City has a population of 67,000 people which surprised both of us. We did not think it was that large. The temperature has now gone up to 76 degrees--nice!
11:00 a.m. - (12:00 p.m.) - We changed time zones again and now we are on Central time. We hope to end up in a small town off I-90 called Onaconda, S.D. which is close to Chamberlain, S.D. off I-90 East. It is very windy now in this stretch of Freeway. Winds are about 35 miles per hr. and Frank has to really grip the wheel.
1:30 p.m. We are at Kodaka, S.D. and the weather is now a balmy 87 degrees but still windy.
4:00 p.m. Just drove into the Oasis Campground on Exit 260 off I-90 East. It is a Good Sam Park and the temp is 80 degrees and a very windy, hard rain has just started to fall and we are in a huge storm. Have to wait a few minutes before we can hook up. Winds have really picked up and we heard from the weatherman that this storm is passing over us until later on tonight. I need to go to the store, but I think I am going to wait until the winds go down a little. Temperature is suppose to drop to about 55 degrees tonight.
Drove 250 miles today
