Well on July 14th we left Arcata, CA after having a very and a great morning. Had a good complimentary breakfast and then went for a walk and packed up for our next adventure. Have been having great weather, blue skies and nice temps. The Redwoods and Pines are just so beautiful and green here on Hwy. 101 and a "must see". Going through all the small towns that sell the beautiful redwood and burl that Frank drools over. He did have to buy a piece of beautiful Redwood Burl in a small town outside of Orick, CA. It will be interesting to see what he makes of it. A great souvenir of our travels. Had a nice lunch on Thursday in Crescent City an saw some lighthouses and walked out on beautiful piers overlooking the ocean. Florence, OR is a beautiful city and just couldn't get over how beautiful the ocean looks with the sun making it sparkle like diamonds. Then we would drive a little farther and the beautiful HUGE Redwoods and Pines would just reach out across the road and make an umbrella across the road. Just an amazing sight to see. Have seem very many bicyclists along this 101 Hwy getting a very good workout. I can understand why this is our 3rd time taking this route. Each time is just a little different. For those who might be interested--- it took us 4 hours to drive 100 miles!!! lol lol. Since we left we have not driven even driven 300 miles in a day!! Talk about taking it easy. We sure are enjoying the ride and Frank is so much more relaxed. We stayed at the Adobe Resort in Tachates, OR which is just north of Florence for the last 2 days and have had a great relaxing time. There was a wedding going on here when we arrived, but not near as beautiful or nice as Tiffy's. Guests were sitting outside on the lawn for most of the reception. We have been sleeping with the patio door open an hearing the beautiful sound of the ocean waves. Our room is facing the ocean and it is so relaxing and calm. We have been walking the beach every morning and enjoying sitting on our patio vegging out. Friday we went on a drive back to the Florence area and stopped at some of the beaches we missed the other day. We took a drive down a street called Rhododendron Drive. They have many Rhododendron's and when they are all in bloom this street is just beautiful. Just so happens that they are not in bloom at this time of the year. But the drive took us down to a couple of beaches we would not have seen otherwise and we let Abby loose and she ran and ran and ran in circles an was so excited just to be able to "let loose". hahahahahaha
We had a great fish dinner and the Port of Siuslaw River Dock and saw some of the crabbing and fishing boats. Had a nice trip back to the motel and watched the rain come in over the ocean. It has been a great vacation so far and we will be leaving tomorrow a.m. on our way to Longview, WA to visit with Dave and Sandy, our friends from Mesa, AZ

Great descriptions mom of what sounds like a beautiful drive. Glad to hear it's less stressful than driving the motorhome and that you both are having a nice and realaxing time. Keep up the blog!
