We left Dave's with nice sunny skies after a great stay, good home cooking and happy times. We continued on our journey to Port Angeles, WA and will be spending the night at the Red Lion Hotel. We drove around the city and the Ports here and went to the logging yard and the paper mill. Weather is cool on the docks, but a little warmer inland. (64 degrees) Coming here we went through some Indian country and towns of Chehates, Potlatch0, Hoodsport, and different "bldg..) had signs of home made fireworks with signs like: Il eagle (illegal), Fireworks & the whole Sha Bang and Family Pack Artillery Shells. hahahaha lol Most of them are run by the Snohomish Indian Tribe. At Potlatch State Park on the beach there were a lot of people digging for clams. It was a very smelly beach because you had to leave the shells where you dug for the clams or there was a $75 + fine if you took the clams with the shells on them. Also you are only allowed 40 clams or 10 lbs whichever came first and that included what you ate. UGH!!! How they know how much you ate, beats me. Then on down the road was an oyster beach where thousands of oyster shells were all over the beach and piled very high in different spots on the beach. Indians must get a good profit in selling these along the road in their shops.
Hwy. 101 is a very interesting an beautiful road to travel. A road well worth traveling no matter what part of CA, OR or in this WA coastline. We pulled into the Red Lion Hotel on the waterfront right where we will be getting on our ferry to cross into Canada tomorrow and spend some time at Victoria on Vancouver Island. We had a nice quiet relaxing drive and not much traffic. Temp has been about 64 degrees all day and partly cloudy. The Crab House Restaurant is right on site and dinner is waiting. lol lol
I will be turning off my cell phone tomorrow, so no calls will be going through. I will hopefully be able to get on the WIFI in the hotels throughout Canada. If not, IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, YOU CAN ALWAYS REACH US ON FRANKS CELL.
Well, cheerio for now and catch you when I can.
