Well this is coming to you from another country. hahahahaha
We made it to Canada with no problem. Got up and took the car over to the Ferry Terminal about 9:00 a.m. We couldn't make reservations yesterday
for today at noon because they were already booked. But we were told that if we brought our car over before 10:00 a.m. we would be able to be put "first come first served" basis. That would give us a #1 chance of getting on. So Frank took the car over and
sure enough, he was #2 on the first come first serve basis. Once we had the car in place then we went and had our complimentary breakfast, which was a very nice
breakfast buffet. Then we went back to our room and relaxed and waited until noon when we went back, got in out car and waited to board. The ferry takes 1,000 people and 155 vehicles, depending on the length
There were 2 semi's in front of us when we parked on ship, they took up a lot of room!!
The ride on the ferry was a little rough because it was a very windy day. There were white caps on the water. Abby was not too sure of the ride and sure was glad when we got back on land. It was a 90 minuted ride which I thought went by fast. Got over to
Victoria BC about 2:00 p.m, and we booked our hotel right on the harbor. So as soon as we cleared customs, which was a snap, about 2 blocks down was the hotel. We pulled in, unloaded and walked the 2 blocks to downtown Victoria. Took a carriage tour around part of the residential and older area and saw lots of government bldgs.
The Parliament, BC Museum , the Empress Hotel, which is popular here, etc. Temp has been 62 and windy all day. After the carriage tour, we walked along the harbor and had dinner. It started to get very chilly, so we walked back to our room, which overlooks the pool area. We decided that tomorrow after we check out we will drive around the island and see the beautiful Butchart Gardens and some of the other sights here before we take the next ferry from the north part of the island over toVancouver, Canada. Since we already went through customs, we can put our passports away for awhile until we start to come backinto the US. Been a great day and very excited to see what happens next. Sorry about the pics not being in order, can't figure
that out.
